Mississauga MetroStars News Release
The Mississauga MetroStars today kicked off a program designed to assist Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie's Holiday Food Drive in support of the Mississauga Food Bank. The MetroStars are encouraging fans to bring a non-perishable food item to the SportsZone athletic complex next to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, the MASL club's home arena, in exchange for a ticket to the next home game against the Kansas City Comets this Thursday night at 7:35pm (ET).
MetroStars' volunteer staff will be manning a kiosk at the SportsZone from 5:00-10:00pm tonight and Wednesday night as well as for one hour prior to game time, from 6:30-7:30pm on Thursday night to collect non-perishable food items from fans. A limited number of tickets will be available during this campaign.
With this initiative, the MetroStars hope to reinforce their image as a community-oriented club that gives back to the City of Mississauga. The all-Canadian MASL team features a number of players who are Mississauga natives and have played much of their youth soccer with Mississauga-area youth teams.
The MetroStars' next home game is this Thursday, December 13th, when they entertain the Kansas City Comets at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre with kickoff set for 7:35pm (ET).
