Mesquite Outlaws Will Join Major Arena Soccer League

MESQUITE, TX - The iconic Mesquite Arena has been home to rodeos, concerts, fundraising events and sports; now the Mesquite Outlaws will join that legacy for the 2019-20 season as the Major Arena Soccer League's newest professional club.
Mehrdad Moayedi, a prominent Dallas-Fort Worth real estate developer and owner of Centurion American Development Group, officially launched the new club today.
"The Arena has been a staple in Mesquite. The addition of the Outlaws professional indoor soccer team will bring unique, value-added entertainment to the surrounding community," Moayedi said. "Expanding upon the already successful programming in the Arena will allow it to be a hub of excitement, consistent traffic, economic growth and place the community can continue to enjoy year-round. We are excited to bring this addition to the community."
Moayedi serves as the engine behind a mixed-use community that will be developed on the property that is adjacent to the Arena, which is approximately 54 acres in Mesquite. The development will consist of single-family residential home sites, townhomes, detached urban residences, bungalows and villas, in addition to a variety of restaurants, retail, entertainment and outdoor amenities like trails, parks and open space.

The MASL features iconic arena soccer clubs such as the Dallas Sidekicks, Baltimore Blast, Tacoma Stars and San Diego Sockers, among others.
MASL Commissioner Josh Schaub said the league is excited for the launch of the Mesquite Outlaws.
"It adds not only a great brand and ownership group, but a member who will strive to push the MASL brand forward and represent it in the most professional way possible," Schaub said.
The MASL includes former U.S. National Team stars Landon Donovan and Jermaine Jones. MASL is delivered to over more than 65 million homes each week - nationally on Eleven Sports USA, locally on numerous regional sports networks and across the world streaming globally on MASLtv.
Mayor Stan Pickett expressed both his enthusiasm and excitement for professional soccer coming to Mesquite.
"A professional sports franchise raises our game of economic development, entertainment tourism and more," Pickett said. "This kicks the synergy of that area of Mesquite to new heights. With a new $14 million TownePlace Suites by Marriott, and recently completed renovations to the Hampton Inn and Suites, plus Centurion American Development Group making major improvements to the arena and soon beginning its $116 million mixed-use development called Iron Horse Village, the best word to describe this announcement is 'GOOOAAALLL!'"
Mesquite city councilman Bruce Archer added, "I am extremely excited and gratified to have a professional indoor soccer team forming in Mesquite. Not only will our nearby hotels, restaurants and retail benefit, but the Mesquite Outlaws will enhance Mesquite's quality of life with so many soccer fans and players living in our city. The team's desire to reach out to youth players from all over Mesquite will also pay long term dividends."
