Ogden Raptors News Release
As we head into the Christmas weekend, I hope all of you had completed your gift shopping. I think I finished all mine but I'm pretty sad I was unable to find an XBox 360 for Chris.
As you have seen in the news, the LA Dodgers are starting to rebuild their 2006 roster. This week they have added Nomar Garciaparra & Kenny Lofton. Nomar is slated to play first base and some outfield. Lofton will make a solid addition in centerfield. Hee Soop Choi was also resigned and will back up at first. Things are look good in LA. Furcal at Short, Kent at Second, and Garciaparra at First is pretty impressive. Cesar Izturis will really make the infield solid when he returns from his injury. Adding Lofton in Center will shore up an outfield that needs one ore two more quality people, plus one or two more Pitchers might do the trick in LA. GM Ned Colletti should be proud of his moves so far. If they don't work out, at least he is not afraid of taking the risk. No one ever got ahead by being afraid to risk everything for success. You will notice that none of these signings is multi-year. The Dodgers have some players up and coming that they will be relying on. Guys like Billingsley, Martin, Orenduff, etc...
The office is kind of slow this week due to the holidays, although many season ticket holders have stopped by to pay for their seats prior to January 1st while the discount is in effect. I will be in all week following Christmas for any of you who still want to pay for their seats prior to the 1st. Invoices for your seats will go out just after the first.
Last Weeks Trivia winner was Jason Johnson. He was first to state that the dimensions at Yankee Stadium prior to the renovation was '296 to Right, '461 to Center, and '301 to Left. He wins a Raptors Fitted Game Cap. Please email me with your size and address Jason.
This Weeks Trivia: Do you know the Pirates Reliever who had an 18-1 record in 1959? First correct response will also win a Raptors Cap.
That's all for this week. On behalf of the Stein Brothers, Carol and myself, we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays to all of non-christian faith. We pray that you have a safe New Years celebration as well. Let's hope 2006 is prosperous for all of us and may the Raptors bring home a Championship.
