Augusta Lynx News Release

The flow of Mercyhurst graduates into the ranks of pro hockey continues in Augusta where the Lynx have agreed to terms with forward Rich Hansen for the 2005-06 Season.

Coming from a program that has produced players such as Peter Aubrey, Jody Robinson, Adam Rivers, Nolan Brown, and Louis Goulet, Hansen played four years for the Lakers before turning pro with a four-game stint in the UHL with the Muskegon Fury at the end of last season. For his college career, the 5-11, 180 lb. Hansen recorded 42 goals and 127 points in 147 games. With Muskegon he scored one goal in four games.

"Mercyhurst is a strong program," said Bob Ferguson, Lynx head coach and director of hockey operations. "They continue to turn heads with the quality of players coming from the school, so they must be doing something right. We expect Rich will be no exception."

Hansen brings to eight the total of players coming to training camp in October with the Lynx, along with forwards Brian Passmore, Ryan Lang, Jake Riddle, and Jimmy Callahan, as well as defenseman Shaun Fisher, Ken Scuderi, and Chris Chaput.
