BEAUMONT, TX (August 17, 2005) - Texas Wildcatters Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Tony MacAulay announced today the team has signed forward Jimmy Sokol to a contract for the 2005-06 season. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Last season, Sokol completed his senior year at Utica College where he led the club in scoring with 13 goals and 17 assists in 27 games en route to several postseason honors. Sokol was named the ECAC West Player of the Year, was selected All-ECAC West First Team and earned All-East Second-Team CCM All-American honors as selected by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).

Following his stellar collegiate career, Sokol joined the Fort Worth Brahmas (CHL) where he scored in his first professional game and finished with three goals and two assists in only seven games.
