
Meram Earns Third Cap as Iraq Bows out of 2014 Gulf Cup of Nations

Winger Justin Meram earned his third start and third internaitional cap for Iraq on Thursday as the Lions of Mesopotamia fell to the United Arab Emirates by a 2-0 scoreline. With the defeat, Iraq was eliminated from the 2014 Gulf Cup of Nations.
In his first action with Iraq, Meram started all three matches of the tournament as the Iraqi National Team earned a draw against Oman and fell to Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
Next up, Iraq will shift its focus to the 2015 AFC Asian Cup taking place in Australia in January.
