Men O' War Add Veteran Goaltender to Roster

Lexington, KY- Lexington Men O' War General Manager of Hockey Operations/Head Coach Jim Wiley announced today the signing of goaltender Dan Murphy. In keeping with team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Murphy joins the Men O' War after four years of experience in the East Coast Hockey League and American Hockey League. Since beginning his professional career, Murphy has appeared in 157 games with a record of 78 wins, 54 losses and 11 ties. Murphy has a career goals against average of 2.78 and a career save percentage of .907.

Last season, Murphy led the Trenton Titans to the highest point total in the Northern Conference of the ECHL. Murphy recorded the 2nd best save percentage (.921) in the league. He also led "The Coast" in wins for a goalie with 30 while only losing 10 times.

Murphy and the Men O' War take on the Peoria Rivermen this weekend to kick off the exhibition season. Media are invited to attend Friday's game at 7:30 p.m., but the game will be closed to the public. On Saturday, Men O' War season ticket holders will be invited to see the rematch with the Rivermen. Media are also invited to attend the Saturday game which starts at 1:00 p.m. Season ticket holders are invited to a "Meet the MOW" party immediately following Saturday's game.

The Lexington Men O' War present "Opening Weekend" at Rupp Arena on Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th against the Greensboro Generals.
