Burlington News Release

Lexington, KY- Lexington Men O' War General Manager of Hockey Operations/Head Coach Jim Wiley today announced the team has added two players to their roster. Brett Annetts and Jessi Otis have agreed to terms with the team. In keeping with team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Brett Annetts joins the Men O' War after spending the 2001-02 season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Annetts recorded 11 goals, 24 assists, 35 points and a scrappy 220 penalty minutes for the Assiniboia Rebels. The 21-year-old defenseman stands 6'2" and weighs in at 170.

"Brett was a real surprise in the San Jose Sharks camp. He has good hands and good mobility. He will work hard, and he brings a little bit of grit to the ice. The Sharks sent him to us with implications of major potential," said Wiley.

Jessi Otis comes to Lexington from the University of Alabama-Huntsville. During his four years at UAH, the Montreal native amassed 30 goals, 55 assists, 85 points and 135 penalty minutes in 125 games. During his senior season, the 24-year-old left winger scored 7 goals and assisted on 19 goals for a total of 26 points in 36 games.

"Jessi was one of the fastest skaters in the College Hockey Association. He should bring a physical presence to the ice, and he has the ability to be a playmaker," said Wiley.

The Lexington Men O' War present "Opening Weekend" at Rupp Arena on Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th against the Greensboro Generals.

Individual game tickets to the 7,600 seat capacity Rupp Arena are on sale by calling (859) 233-3535 or any Ticketmaster outlet by calling (859) 281-6644. Tickets can also be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com.
