
Memphis Hustle Improve to 2-0 with Win in Mexico City

Memphis Hustle News Release
The Memphis Hustle, the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated Mexico City Capitanes 111-101, moving to 2-0 in the Showcase Cup.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. paced the Hustle with 24 points (9-16 FG) and eight rebounds in his NBA G League debut. Dakota Mathias totaled 19 points, five rebounds and four steals while Sean McDermott added 16 points and three rebounds. Justin Bean posted his first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Memphis led 83-79 with 10:59 to play in regulation before scoring 10 of the next 12 points to extend the lead to 12, 93-81. The Hustle shot 61.1% from the floor in the fourth quarter and held the Capitanes to 40.9% shooting to close the game.
Caio Pacheco led Mexico City with 17 points and Gary Clark posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Former Memphis Hustle forward Bruno Caboclo added 16 points off the bench for the Capitanes.
The game was tied at 46-46 at the halftime break after Mexico City erased and 11-point Memphis lead. Lofton Jr. led all scorers with 14 points in the first half.
The Hustle controlled the third quarter, shooting 50% from the field and 3-point range. Memphis outscored Mexico City 17-6 in points off turnovers in the fourth quarter to help pick up its first-ever win in Mexico City.
The two teams meet again on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the game on ESPN+.
