Memphis 901 FC Braces for First Away Match in Sunday Night Showdown
March 23, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Memphis 901 FC News Release
CHESTER, Pennsylvania - Memphis 901 FC hits the road Sunday for its first USL Championship away test as the club takes on Eastern Conference foe Bethlehem Steel FC.
Kickoff for that match is set for 5:00 p.m. CT at Talen Energy Stadium and will air locally on the CW30 Memphis.
Sunday will be the first road test for 901 FC early in the regular season as the club continues to look for the first win in its young history.
Memphis (0-1-1, 1 pt) earned its first point of the season after a 1-1 draw last Saturday against Loudoun United FC.
Forward Elliot Collier scored the first goal in 901 FC history in front of the largest USL Championship crowd in Week 2 (7,250).
Despite the lone goal, Memphis created a plethora of chances and continued to establish itself as the one of the top passing teams in the league.
This week Memphis will face Bethlehem (1-1-0, 3 pts), a club that has already jumped to seventh in the Eastern Conference standings after a 2-0 opening weekend win over Birmingham Legion FC.
The Steel however will be looking to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 loss to North Carolina FC in Week 2.
The club could have a bolstered unit Sunday as it shares an affiliation with Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union. Zachary Zandi and Kacper Przybylko both lead the club with one goal each.
Bethlehem will also be looking for its first point at home since October 14, 2014.
Memphis will return home Wednesday, April 10, to face Atlanta United 2 at 7:00 p.m. in a nationally televised match on ESPNews.
Single match tickets for that match and all home matches in April are now on sale.
Season tickets, group tickets, and 7 Match Flex Plans are also available, with full season tickets starting at just $10 per match. Call (901) 721-6000 or go to www.memphis901fc.com/tickets for more information on all ticket options.
