LANSING, Mich. - Seven days away from the official return of baseball at the renovated Cooley Law School Stadium, the Lansing Lugnuts have a big Opening Week planned:
* Media Day will be held on Monday, April 6th, between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Cooley Law School Stadium, with player and coach interviews available upon request.
* Meet the Team, introducing the 2015 Lugnuts to the fan base with an autograph session and a meet-and-greet, will be held on at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8th, in The Clubhouse at stadium suite level.
* A Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be held at the ballpark at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 9th, celebrating the completion of Phase 1 of the $ 13.5 million renovation project and the grand re-opening of Cooley Law School Stadium for baseball. Guest speakers include Lugnuts owner Tom Dickson, Lansing mayor Virg Bernero and L.E.A.P. CEO Bob Trezise.
* On Thursday evening, the Lugnuts host the Michigan State Spartans at 7:05 p.m. in the 9th Annual Crosstown Showdown presented by Auto-Owners Insurance. The game is a Labatt Thirsty Thursday, featuring $2 beer and soda specials, and the first 2,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a commemorative baseball souvenir.
* Opening Night 2015 is at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, April 10th, as the Lugnuts open their 20th Midwest League season by welcoming the Lake County Captains. In honor of the anniversary, tickets cost just $5.50, a throwback to 1996 inaugural season prices.
