Lincoln, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars raised more than $19,500 for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Student Veterans Organization with the post-game jersey auction on Military Appreciation Night presented by West Gate Bank on Nov. 11 at the Ice Box.

"It was an extremely special night to be part of," Stars President Adam Micheletti said. "From seeing the on-ice swear in to the support our fans gave with the post-game jersey auction, it will be a tough night to beat. West Gate Bank helped us make it a huge success."

The Stars wore special jerseys adorned with Stars & Stripes and "Thank You" displayed in block letters along the bottom. Fans bid for the jerseys immediately following the game. Eero Terî=A4vî=A4inen's jersey sold for the highest amount at $1,750.

"There were a record number of student veterans and their families from UNL that were honored and excited to be a part of Military Appreciation Night," President of the UNL Student Veterans Organization Katie Howser said. "Our recognition from the community and those attending made the experience very memorable and inspiring."

The UNL Student Veterans Organization is an organization dedicated to supporting active and former members of the U.S. Military and their families in their pursuit of a college degree.
