Motor City Mechanics News Release

FRASER, MI-This week the NHL announced to the world what hockey fans all over have wanted to hear, WE'RE BACK!!

"As a professional hockey franchise we are elated to see the NHL get back on the ice this fall," said Mechanics President, John Tull. "Hockey promotes hockey and for the past year everything has been a little off here in Hockeytown."

The Mechanics signed five NHL players, including three local fan favorites Chris Chelios, Kris Draper and Derian Hatcher. Bryan Smolinski and Sean Avery were the other two members from the Ottawa Senators and the Los Angeles Kings respectively.

"We wish Chris Chelios, Derian Hatcher, Kris Draper, Sean Avery and Bryan Smolinski the best of luck this fall with their existing or new teams, however, the United Hockey League is a great brand of "AA" professional hockey," said Mechanics President John Tull.

In their inaugural season in the UHL the Mechanics finished strong winning 18 of their last 19 games including a 12 game win streak and Head Coach, Danton Cole was an astonishing 18-2-0 after taking over behind the bench.

"Our team will still feature 20 of the most talented hockey players from around the world and we look forward to adding on to our 12 game winning streak when we open the season on October 21st in Missouri against the River Otters," said Mechanics President John Tull.

Come join the Mechanics when they open up at home against the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday October 28th. Every fan that enters the Garage will receive a complimentary opening night collectible game puck sponsored by McDonald's. Opening night is also a youth hockey celebration as all youth teams are encouraged to come join the fun and participate in the first intermission team parade, and meet McDonald's own, Ronald McDonald.
