Mechanics Make Another Addition To Roster

FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL) have added a fourth member to the 2005-06 roster with the signing of Ukrainian Right Wing, Konstantin Kalmikov.

Kalmikov, 27, joins the Mechanics after playing the 2004-05 season with the Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). During that time Kalmikov compiled 44 points (pts) including a career high 26 goals (g). Prior to joining the Panthers, Kalmikov spent much of his career in the ECHL, AHL and his first two years in the old Colonial Hockey League with the Flint Generals and Detroit Falcons.

Kalmikov has twice matched his professional career high in points. During the 2001-02 season and the 2003-04 season, both with the Louisiana IceGators, Kalmikov tallied 47pts.

"He's a big kid and he doesn't get intimidated," said Mechanics Head Coach, Danton Cole. "He is a solid addition to this team."

The Mechanics now have four players signed for the 2005-06 season. All-Star Defenseman, Kevin Hansen, former Michigan State Spartan Defenseman, Chris Bogas and Center, Chris Gignac are all under contract for the upcoming season.

The Mechanics open the 2005-06 season October 21st when they visit the Missouri River Otters and come join the Mechanics when they open up at home against the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday October 28th.
