B2 Networks and Pointstreak Announce Partnership
August 9, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) News Release
LAS VEGAS, NV.,-July 24, 2005- B2 Networks, LLC., a premier provider of sports broadcasting via broadband, today announced a partnership with Pointstreak.com, the leader in real-time scoring and statistics. Through this partnership, Pointstreak will provide an electronic feed of all real-time game scores to be shown during broadcasts on the B2 Network.
This feed gives B2 the capability to produce a real-time scoring "ticker" on all broadcasts of games in leagues that utilize the Pointstreak System. The result will provide fans and media the opportunity to view up-to-the-second hockey scores and statistics during the live broadband broadcasts.
"Just as Pointstreak brought real-time scoring to sporting events, B2 Networks is revolutionizing the way sports leagues service and interact with their fans," said Scott Secord, President and CEO of Pointstreak.com, Inc. "By offering live online broadband video of sporting events leagues can now provide access to every game on a pay-per-view basis to the fans and media."
Using the combined services of B2 Networks and Pointstreak, fans will be able to watch their favorite team, get up to the minute statistics from the contest they are viewing, and get the vital information from all other leaguer games being played. This is a first in the history of broadcasting.
"Pointstreak is clearly the leader in real-time scoring and statistics. Providing this live scoring ticker during our broadcasts will only serve to enhance the overall fan experience," said Greg P. Bell, B2 Networks Owner and CEO. "We are pleased to work in partnership with Pointstreak to provide our clients and their fans with the most sophisticated and complete sports information and viewing experience."
The first professional hockey league that will use this new partnership for real time updates of nightly statistics is the United Hockey League.
"The United Hockey League is proud to once again be a pioneer in broadcasting and offer our fans a complete game watching experience," said Richard Brosal, UHL President and CEO. "We were the first league to sign with B2 Networks to broadcast our games on broadband and we believe the addition of Pointstreak's technology will raise the level of enjoyment for all fans following the action."
