Tri-City Storm News Release

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm and Viaero Event Center have announced that Kyle Means, the Vice President of Marketing & Game Operations, will resign to become the Director of Marketing for the University of Nebraska-Kearney. This move will be effective July 7.

Means has been with the Storm and Event Center for eight years and is one of the longest tenured staff members. He was initially hired to run the Storm's video production efforts in 2006. His role expanded over the years and he led the marketing and game operations effort for the past six seasons. Means' responsibilities with the Storm and Event Center included all aspects of marketing and digital media, video production, graphic design, promotions, game operations and administration. Additionally, he has been the liaison responsible for completing the Tri-City Storm schedule each season, including serving on schedule committee with the USHL.

Means has been a key member of the organization who helped increase attendance at Storm games by 48 percent over the last five years. His strategic and creative approach to the business has helped position the organization for continued growth in the future.

"In Kyle Means, UNK is getting one of the most strategic and highly efficient marketing professionals that I've worked with in my 20 plus years of sports and entertainment," said Greg Shea, President of the Storm and Event Center. "Most importantly, they're going to have a person that is an endless worker, tremendous teammate, and overall champion for moving, refreshing and building brands. He leaves a big hole for us to fill, but our organization is built around moving people up and growing their careers. This is yet another example of that process."

Prior to working for the Tri-City Storm and Viaero Event Center, Means spent two years with the Houston Rockets and Toyota Center (2004-06), and nearly four years working for HuskerVision (2001-2004), a division of the University of Nebraska Athletic Department. However, Means describes his experience with the Storm as the most valuable.

"I will cherish my 8 years with the Storm and Event Center," Means said. "I've grown so much personally and professionally. I will greatly miss the staff, the players and certainly the fans. I'm so thankful to Greg Shea for mentoring me all these years and to Kirk Brooks, for all he has done for me and my family."

The Tri-City Storm will begin its 15th anniversary season this fall. The USHL schedule is set to be announced in early July. For more information, visit www.StormHockey.com.
