
McPhee Returns to the Pioneers for 2008

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are excited to announce the return of OL/DL Deon McPhee to the 2008 roster. McPhee is the first player from the 2007 American Conference Champions to be assigned to the team.
Last season was McPhee's first season in the AF2 and with the Pioneers. McPhee 6'3 and 300 pounds was designated as the team's "International Player" and was an integral part of the defensive line rotation for the final playoff push to the Arena Cup championship game.
McPhee was a captain of the 2005 UConn squad and finished his college career having played 45 games in four seasons. He posted 82 total tackles with 34 solo in his career while adding four sacks.
"Deon brings leadership and maturity to our team," stated head coach Rich Ingold," I love the way he carries himself on and off the field. I expect big things from him this year."
