SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Central Hockey League and the Mississippi RiverKings have announced that goaltender Kyle McNulty has been named the league's Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week, for the week ending March 7th.

McNulty, who was acquired off waivers by the RiverKings from the Arizona Sundogs (CHL) early last week, excelled in his first two starts with the team, backstopping the RiverKings to wins both Saturday and Sunday.

In his two games, the Wakefield, Rhode Island native stopped 68 of 70 shots on net. He claimed a 2-1 shootout victory over the Allen Americans on Saturday night, March 6th, stopping 35 shots in the game and also stopping three out of five shots in the shootout.

Sunday, McNulty stopped 33 shots in aiding the RiverKings to a 5-1 victory over the Missouri Mavericks.

For the season with the RiverKings, McNulty is 2-0-0 with a 0.96 goals-against-average and a save percentage of.971.

Including his time in Arizona earlier this year, Kyle has a record of 8-15-1 with a 3.21 GAA and a save percentage of.892.

It's the second Goaltender of the Week honor for McNulty, who won it with Arizona on January 11th.

The RiverKings enter the final two weeks of the season in fourth place in the CHL Northern Conference with a 29-23-7 record for 65 points. Friday, the RiverKings play the Texas Brahmas at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, starting at 7:05 PM.

Saturday, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs come to town in a 7:05 PM contest at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven. Don Parsons' number 13 jersey will be retired in a pre-game ceremony, becoming only the second RiverKings' player to have his number retired.
