Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD)-The Junior Rushettes Dance Camp that took place on Saturday, February 13th proved to be a huge success as 44 girls, ranging from ages five to eight, performed center ice at an intermission of the Rush's game against Odessa. The Rushettes dance team will expect their second camp, held on Saturday, March 13th, to be just as successful with over 35 dancers already registered. This upcoming camp will be held for girls ages nine to fourteen.

The camp will take place at Stretch Studio in downtown Rapid City on the afternoon before the Rush's March 13th game against the Allen Americans. Participants will learn a routine choreographed by team captain, Teresa Rathbun, and coached by dancers of the 2009-2010 Rushettes team. The camp will provide participants with a day of fun and various activities, as well as a chance to build on their own dance and performance skills. While registration for this year's camp is full, young Rushette fans can look forward to similar dance camps in the seasons to come.

The Rushettes continue to demonstrate their commitment to the community by raising money for the Black Hills Children's Home through the sales of the 2009-2010 Rushettes Calendar. So far, calendar sales have raised $600 dollars for the Children's Home Society. The calendar is priced at $5 and features thirteen photos of current team members in various locations of the Black Hills. Calendars can be purchased during games at the Rushettes Tables located on the concourse behind sections D and P, at the Rush Office during regular business hours, or online at www.RapidCityRush.com.
