
McManus Named CCM Co-Forward of the Week

Ralston, NE - After a four-point weekend and a +4 rating, including two goals on Saturday night in a 4-1 win over the Sioux Falls Stampede, Lancers' forward Brannon McManus has been named the CCM Co-Forward of the Week by the United States Hockey League on Monday.
On Saturday night during the second period, McManus score his first USHL goal. McManus and Mitch Perrault went in on a two-on-one chance offensively. Perrault took the pass in the right circle from McManus, immediately returned it, and McManus fired it over the shoulder of Ales Stezka for his first USHL goal and a 3-0 lead for the Omaha Lancers with 5:26 left in the period. Perrault had the only assist on the goal for his second helper on the night.
In the final period on Saturday, McManus scores his second goal of the night to give the Lancers a 4-1 lead. Mitch Perrault joined McManus again for a two-on-one opportunity. Inside the left wing circle, McManus put on the breaks and sent a low shot by the right leg pad of Stezka for a 4-1 advantage at 10:44 of the third frame. Nick Rivera and Johan Steen had the assist on McManus' goal.
McManus, a native of California, is committed to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota. Prior to coming to Omaha this season, he previously played for Shattuck St. Mary's and scored 206 points in 120 games played.
The Omaha Lancers return home to Ralston Arena on Friday night as they hos the Sioux City Musketeers.
