McLaughlin Goes for 32 in Nets Win over Vipers

LAS VEGAS - Jordan McLaughlin scored a game-high 32 points to lead the Long Island Nets to a 110-100 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers to tip off Day Two of the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase.

McLaughlin's performance marked a new season-high in scoring for a Nets player. The guard was 11-of-20 from the field and had eight assists and six steals (both game-highs) in the matchup. Two-way player Alan Williams also added 24 points and 14 rebounds (seven offensive) for Long Island. The Nets improve to an Eastern-Conference best 12-5 with the win.

The Vipers' Brandon Sampson was the highlight for Rio Grande Valley in the loss. The guard recorded 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, all team-highs. The Vipers fall to 9-9 with the loss.

The Nets complete their Showcase trip on Saturday when they take on the Oklahoma City Blue at 5:00 p.m. PT on ESPN Plus. The Vipers wrap up their week on Saturday as well, facing the Greensboro Swarm at 3:30 p.m. PT on Facebook Live.
