BayHawks Win Battle with Legends

LAS VEGAS - Center Isaac Humphries scored a career-high 34 points to lead the Erie BayHawks past the Texas Legends to a 124-107 victory on Day One of the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase.

In a matchup that saw 16 lead changes and 13 ties, the BayHawks began to pull away from the Legends midway through the fourth quarter, outscoring Texas 24-7 in the final seven minutes of play. After a three-point basket from Erie guard Jordan Sibert tied the contest at 100 apiece, the BayHawks followed with a 15-2 run to all but end the contest.

Humphries shot 15-for-21 from the field, grabbed 15 rebounds and had five blocks in the winning effort for Erie. Teammate RJ Hunter neared a triple-double performance with 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in addition to a game-high five steals and guard Craig Sword added 15 points off the bench.

For Texas, two-way player Daryl Macon notched 28 points on 50.0 percent shooting from the field (9-of-18) and Jameel Warney added 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Erie takes on the Northern Arizona Suns on Friday at 2:30 p.m. PT on ESPNU to finish up the trip to Las Vegas. Texas will round out its Showcase with a matchup against the Raptors 905 on Friday at 5:00 p.m. PT also on ESPNU.
