Agua Caliente Sails to Victory over Grand Rapids

LAS VEGAS - The Agua Caliente Clippers (9-7) defeated the Grand Rapids Drive (7-11), 110-94, on Day One of the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase.
Four of Agua Caliente's starters scored in double figures as they earned their ninth win of the season. Center Angel Delgado registered a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. NBA G League Player of the Week, Johnathan Motley, also posted a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds to set Agua Caliente on a victorious course. Agua Caliente improved to 9-7 with the win.
With a halftime score of 51-46, the Clippers scored 37 points in the third quarter to take full control of the game. Agua Caliente also set their sails by netting 16 three-pointers on 42.1-percent shooting. Reserve Anthony Bennett added 16 points and went 4-for-5 from three-point territory.
Guard Marcus Thornton led Grand Rapids with a game-high 23 points and four rebounds. Shep Garner logged 29 minutes off the bench and tallied 19 points to go with four rebounds. The Drive fall to 7-11 after tonight's game.
Agua Caliente and Grand Rapids each play their final Showcase games on Friday. The Clippers face off against the Capital City Go-Go (7-7) at 12 p.m. PT on ESPNU while the Drive take on the Oklahoma City Blue (13-4) at 12:30 p.m. PT on NBA TV.
