McGill, Jung American Association Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC -- The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball announced today that Lincoln Saltdogs catcher Shawn McGill and Sioux City Explorers RHP Jae Jung have been named the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week. The selection was made by Pointstreak, the official statistician of the American Association.

McGill hit .500 with two home runs and nine RBI in six games. He scored five runs along with 10 hits, a slugging percentage of .850 and an on-base percentage of .565. The Wakefield, RI resident went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in the 9-4 win over the Shreveport-Bossier Captains on Saturday. McGill on the season is batting .304 with two home runs and 14 RBIs.

Jung went 2-0 this past week with a 1.13 ERA in 16 innings pitched. He allowed two earned runs and three walks while fanning six batters. The Burbank, CA resident tossed a complete game shutout in the 2-0 victory over the Wichita Wingnuts Sunday. Jung is 3-2 on the season with an earned run average of 2.54.
