
McDougal, Craig and Flemming are invited for training camp

Montreal, January 31st, 2003 - Montreal Alouettes' General Manager Jim Popp announced today that four new players have signed with the team including veteran linebacker and specialist Philippe Girard. Linebacker Cornell Craig, running back Kevin McDougal and guard Brock Flemming have also signed contracts with the Alouettes.
Girard (6'2'', 215 lbs.) played with the Edmonton Eskimos since 1998, the year he was drafted fifth overall in the Canadian College Draft. In five seasons in the CFL, Girard made 16 defensive tackles and 37 special team tackles. He did not play in 2002.
Craig (6'1'', 190 lbs.) was named the 2002 Arena Cup MVP, after a record performance of three touchdowns in the Peoria Pirates' Arena Football League 2 championship win. He attended the Alouettes' training camp in 2000. He is known as the premier receiver of all-time at Southern Illinois University. During his last three years at SIU, Craig gained 3,385 receiving yards including 1,039 in 1997 and 1,419 in 1999. He scored 37 touchdowns in his college career.
McDougal (5'11'', 203 lbs.) played 15 games with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts in the 2000 and 2001 seasons. He carried the ball 17 times for gains of 48 yards. McDougal had a great career at Colorado State University. He is 25.
Flemming (6'7'', 340 lbs.) is a 24-year-old native of Aylmer, Quebec. He joined the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees in 2001 after spending three seasons with Colgate University in New York. In 2002, Flemming was named on the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) football all-Canadian offensive first team.
