Macon Mayhem News Release

MACON, GA- The Mayhem have finalized the return of forward Jimmy Soper to their roster, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Ops Leo Thomas announced today.

"Soper brings the energy and hard, physical game back into our lineup," Thomas said. "It's something we've been missing and I'm glad to have him back in the mix."

Soper (23) played for the Mayhem around the final third of the 2017-18 season, registering 20 games and tallying 10 points (3 G, 7 A). He scored a goal in his first-ever SPHL game last season, striking on the road in a 7-1 blowout over the Huntsville Havoc.

"I couldn't be more excited to return to Macon and do anything I can to help the team keep winning," Soper said.

The Waterloo, Ontario native also brings a full season of major junior experience, having played 50 games in 2013-14 for the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. His introduction to professional hockey began last season with the Danville Dashers of the Federal Hockey League, and he is now turning his attention towards building off his first pro campaign.

Strong, two-way centers are a must-have in today's pro hockey landscape. Soper (6'1, 190) is regarded as a complete, competitive 200-foot player who does not shy away from the physical elements of the game. He will don the #13 for the Mayhem and is expected to debut this Friday night in Knoxville.

The Mayhem will have their next home game the following night on Saturday, November 10th to close out a home-and-home with the Ice Bears. Puck drop is set for 7:35 pm ET. The game has been labeled Faith & Family Night, and the Mayhem encourage congregations of all backgrounds and faiths to attend a night of family-friendly fun at the Macon Centreplex.
