Sioux City Explorers News Release
Sioux City, IA- The Sioux City Explorers rack up seven runs and keep the RedHawks scoreless, extending their winning streak to eight games with the 7-0 victory Tuesday night.
The Explorers plated a run in the fourth, five runs in the sixth and another in the eighth to give them their seven runs on the night.
Sioux City had four hitters finish with double-digit hits Tony Campana went 2 for 5 and a run scored. Jayce Ray recorded three hits and a run. John Nogowski had a huge night at the plate, going 2 for 4 with an RBI double and two runs scored.
Explorer's starter Reed Pfannenstein (1-0) received the victory, pitching seven scoreless innings while striking out three.
Fargo-Moorhead's right-hander Jose Almarante (2-1) was charged with the loss, allowing five runs in 5.1 innings pitched.
The Sioux City Explorers and Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will play game three of their four game series on Wednesday, first pitch-7:02.
