INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Missouri Mavericks are hosting a Veterans Day celebration at their home game on November 11 against Fort Wayne. Today the Mavericks announced that they have partnered with Warriors' Ascent and 810 WHB to help raise money for Warriors' Ascent as part of their Veterans Day efforts.

"We are so excited to be working with Warriors' Ascent and aiding their mission to provide relief to soldiers suffering from Post Traumatic Stress," said Mavericks owner Lamar Hunt Jr. "They are a local organization and true leaders in the effort to provide support and healing to servicemen and servicewomen who sacrifice so much to defend our freedom."

"We are thrilled to develop this partnership with the Missouri Mavericks to generate awareness of veteran health issues, especially veteran suicide, and to raise funds for the programs to aid in the healing of veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress," said Warriors' Ascent executive director Mike Kenny. "This is a special opportunity on Veterans Day to highlight these issues, particularly the disproportionately high rate of veteran suicide cited at between 20-22 per day by the Department of Veterans Affairs. In light of this, we are asking for the community's support in increments of $22."

All day long on Friday, November 11 - Veterans Day - the Mavericks will be helping take online donations for Warriors' Ascent. In recognition of their donations, those who contribute $44 will receive a Mavericks-themed Warriors' Ascent t-shirt and a voucher for a Terrace Level ticket that can be redeemed for any remaining Mavericks home game. Donations can be made [1]using this link.

810WHB is dedicating coverage of this fundraising event throughout the day and will feature interviews from the Mavericks and Warriors' Ascent representatives.

Additionally, Warriors' Ascent will be highlighted as the Mavericks Community Organization of the Night during the Friday, November 11 game. Proceeds from Chuck-a-Puck will benefit Warriors' Ascent, in addition to the "Mavs HoKCey Salutes Veterans" t-shirts which will be sold on the concourse for $22.
