CHECKING THE RIVALRY

The Mavericks are facing the Beast tonight for the second of two meetings this season and the second of two to be played at the Powerade Centre. Missouri has a 5-2-1 all-time ECHL record against Brampton, including a 2-0-1 record on the road. On Friday night the Mavericks used their best offensive outing of the season, to date, to down the Beast 5-4 in a shootout. It was the Mavericks' first road win of the season and snapped a four-game losing streak away from Independence. Brampton, meanwhile, suffered its third consecutive overtime/shootout defeat, and has seen each of its first four games this season decided after regulation. Friday was Missouri's first OT game of 2016-17.

GIVE THE GUY A HAND

Mavericks goalie Eamon McAdam picked up his first professional win when he came on in relief of injured Ville Husso on Friday night. He entered with the game tied 3-3 and stopped 22 shots through overtime and five of six shooters in the shootout. Interestingly, McAdam still has yet to receive more than one goal of offensive support in a game during his time on the ice.
