Mavericks Exhibition Game Tickets on Sale Saturday, Filly's Change Audition Date

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - Missouri Mavericks' President and General Manager Brent Thiessen announced Thursday the Central Hockey League (CHL) team's exhibition game tickets will go on sale Saturday, August 14 at the Mavericks' Fan Fest. The team also announced the schedule for the Filly's cheer squad auditions.

Missouri will host the Evansville IceMen for two exhibition games on Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9 at Independence Events Center. Tickets for both games will go on sale at 10 a.m. at the Independence Events Center Box Office during the Mavericks' Fan Fest. End, Terrace, Plaza and Rinkside level tickets are $15 and Center Ice and Kryger Glass seats are $18. Tickets will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis. Mavericks' season ticket holders' seats are currently reserved, and season ticket holders have the option to purchase the tickets at a reduced rate by September 1.

"We are excited to host our first exhibition games in Independence," said Thiessen. "We are happy to share the opportunity with our fans and give them the first look at the 2010 Missouri Mavericks."

The Mavericks have also announced details for the Mavericks' Filly's cheer squad tryouts. Due to the overwhelming response, the first workshop and information session has been moved to Sunday, August 22 (originally August 15) at Independence Events Center. This session will be free to those interested in learning more about the Filly's and what to expect from the city's top new cheer squad! The team will also have tips from Bolero Salon and Spa, samples of game night structure, and potential dance steps that will be performed in-game.

Sunday, August 22 - Workshop and Information Session - 12-3 p.m., Independence Events Center

Thursday, August 26 - Prelims - 5:30 p.m., Independence Events Center

Saturday, August 28 - Finals - 10:30 a.m., Blue Springs Harley Davidson

The Missouri Mavericks will begin their second season in the Central Hockey League on October 15, 2010 against the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:05 p.m. The Mavericks play their home games at the state-of-the-art Independence Events Center where parking is always free.
