Matt Siddall tallies two as Victoria finishes series with 4-1 victory over Ontario

Victoria, BC - In a Saturday night series finale the Victoria Salmon Kings took on the Ontario Reign at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The Salmon Kings' net was tended to by David Shantz, while the Reign started Kellen Briggs.

Victoria scored the lone goal of the opening frame at the 10:03 mark. Rob Hennigar made a behind the back pass in the neutral zone, where he set up a streaking Matt Siddall for a breakaway, who finished the play with a forehand-to-backhand move to beat Briggs for his third goal of the season. The Salmon Kings lead 1-0 through one period.

The Reign knotted the game 3:55into the second period as Pierre-Andre Bureau's pass from behind the net found Andrew Lewadniuk in front for his second marker of the year. The Salmon Kings regained their advantage less than three minutes later when Siddall netted a shot from the left side of the net for his second tally of the night. Victoria held a 2-1 lead after forty minutes.

The Salmon Kings extended their lead to 3-1 at the 5:14 mark as Mike Wilson performed a drop pass for Derek Couture at the left face-off dot where he wristed a shot past Briggs. The goal was Couture's third of the campaign. Ontario pulled their goalten
