It was another vigorous performance offered by Atlético Ottawa on Saturday afternoon at TD Place, but one that went unrewarded for the local side, seeing the visiting Halifax Wanderers leave town with the 2-1 win and the three points.

In a game where Atlético Ottawa had the best in most of the statistical categories, from shots (12 to Halifax's 10), chances created, open play crosses (13 to Halifax's 6), possession (59,2%), and maintaining a passing accuracy of over 87%, it could unfortunately not capitalize enough to secure the win.

Viti Martinez had a distinct impact on the match the minute he got on, coming on at halftime as a substitute and setting up Malcolm Shaw's goal with a perfectly weighted ball between the defenders in the 52'.

Atlético Ottawa will look to solve its inexplicable tendency to give up a kick from the penalty mark in the opening quarter of the match if it is to find its winning way in the coming matches.

A reminder that Atlético Ottawa's match at York United FC originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 15 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 14 at 7 PM at York Lions Stadium in order to accommodate the 2021 Canadian Championship Quarter-Final Round schedule.
