Louisville, KY (July 23, 2015) - With a perfect 12 points in four games, Louisville City FC (9-3-5, 32 points) has been the hottest team in the United Soccer League and a win on Saturday will give Lou City the longest winning streak the USL's Eastern Conference has seen this season. The 7pm kickoff at Legion Stadium will be the second of a three game road swing for Louisville as they look to continue to climb the standings in the Eastern Conference.
Saturday will be a rematch of Louisville's lopsided win back on May 12th. In the 3-0 victory, City got goals from Magnus Rasmussen, Aodhan Quinn, and Conor Shanosky all in the first half to put away the match before heading into the break.
Lou City is coming off of a 2-1 victory up in Pittsburgh for the club's second road victory of the season. The purple and gold got on the board first with a Magnus Rasmussen free kick from 20 yards out giving him his seventh goal of the season.
The Riverhounds didn't hang their heads and Kevin Kerr netted and equalizer five minutes later.
Louisville would take the lead for good when Bryan Burke played a low cross to Matt Fondy in the 66th minute that he sent home off the outside of his left foot. It was Fondy his 11th goal of the season.
Wilmington is looking to get back on the winning side as they have dropped three of their last four; most recently a 1-0 road loss against the Charleston Battery. The Hammerheads are also looking to get back on the board as they have been held scoreless in six of their last seven matches.
