Texoma FC News Release
SHERMAN, TX - Los Pájaros return to Bearcat Stadium to take on AV Alta on Saturday, October 4 at 7 PM CST for Dr. Pepper Night.
Break the Deadlock
Texoma FC and AV Alta will face each other for the 3rd and final time this season this Saturday night. Each of the first two meetings has resulted in a stalemate, neither side able to come out on top. The last time Los Pájaros played AV Alta was at home in a 3-3 match. Lamin Jawneh, Ajmeer Spengler, and Luke McCormick all found the back of the net that night for Texoma. This match could prove to break the deadlock and finally have a victor in this 3 match series. With both sides also on the outside looking in of the playoffs, a positive result is crucial for both sides.
End of Season Push
With only a few weeks left until playoffs, it is now crunch time for teams to solidify their spot in the playoffs. Over the weekend, 4 teams were able to secure their spot: Chattanooga, Knoxville, Naples, and Spokane. This weekend also confirmed Westchester as the first team officially out of playoff contention. This leaves 4 playoff spots open and 9 teams in the running for them. While Los Pájaros remain in the running, it will be an uphill battle with the team relying on wins in their next 4 games and favorable results around the league
Players to Watch
Patrick Staszewski: The 19-year-old Arsenal academy product made a brief cameo against Hearts of Pine last Saturday, not as a defender, but up top. With the ability to play both in attack and in defense, we could see him transition into another attacking option for Coach Forbes.
Ozzie Ramos: Playing over 2,000 minutes this season, Ramos has provided the Texoma midfield with much needed stability this year. With years of experience under his belt already, Ramos is known for being the words of wisdom that the young players on the roster need, especially going towards a playoff push.
