The first edition of the South Texas Derby saw RGV FC earn three points in the last minute of a dramatic 3-2 win. San Antonio FC was down 2-0 halfway through the second half before goals by forwards Manolo Sanchez and Shawn Chin sparked a brief comeback for the club.
The match will be the fourth in 11 days for San Antonio FC. The club will return to action on Wednesday, June 1 as they visit the Des Moines Menace (PDL) in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
