
Match Preview: RailHawks to Host Minnesota United FC on Saturday, July 4th at 5:00pm

CARY, NC (July 2, 2015) - The Carolina RailHawks will host Minnesota United FC at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, July 4th at 5:00 PM ET.
The RailHawks will be looking to pick up where they left off in the spring season and start their fall season strong. They concluded their spring season on a roll and finished third in the NASL standings.
The squad's last match of the spring season was a 1-1 tie against Minnesota United FC at WakeMed Soccer Park. With Minnesota leading 1-0, RailHawks midfielder Tiyi Shipalane sent a beautiful cross to forward Nacho Novo who finished the play with a fantastic header in the 80th minute. Akira Fitzgerald also had a stellar performance for the RailHawks to help the team earn a point.
Minnesota United finished their spring season with a 3-2 loss to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at home. Despite this loss, Minnesota had a solid season and placed fourth in the final NASL standings. Both Minnesota and the RailHawks finished the season with 14 points but the RailHawks claimed third place due to a higher goal difference.
The RailHawks will continue their fall season against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at WakeMed Soccer Park on July 8th at 7:30 pm ET.

Who to Watch
Tiyi Shipalane had a fantastic spring season for the RailHawks and solidified himself as one of the best midfielders in the league. Shipalane sent a beautiful cross to forward Nacho Novo for the equalizing goal in the RailHawks most recent game against Minnesota United FC. He finished the spring season with three goals and four assists, which is tied for second most in the NASL.

"We're ready to get back playing," said RailHawks Head Coach Colin Clarke. "We aren't completely happy with how we played at home in the spring, and we want to get that right and start with three points at home on the Fourth of July."
