July 2, 2015 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC today announced that defender Colin Falvey has agreed to an extension that will see him remain with the club through the 2016 Season. Falvey played every minute of every Fury FC match in the Spring Season helping Fury FC post a league-best defensive record setting a pair of NASL records in the process. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Falvey, a native of Cork Ireland, has been a rock in the back four since arriving in Ottawa, helping Fury FC become the best defensive team in the NASL.
"Colin is an important part of what this team has been doing defensively," said Head Coach Marc Dos Santos. "I believe that championship teams are built from the back and Colin has been playing a crucial role in this. We stay committed on building this club in the right direction. "
"I'm delighted to be staying here," said Falvey after signing the contract extension. "Nothing has changed from the project Marc sold me on from the first day I signed here. I think we're progressing to where we need to be at and he`s made me feel a big part of that.
Falvey and his Fury FC teammates will take to the pitch at TD Place for the Fall Season opener this Sunday (July 5) against Jacksonville Armada FC at 3pm. Tickets to this match and all Fall Season matches are available at OttawaFuryFC.com.
Ottawa Fury FC also announced today that midfielder Nicki Paterson will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL in last Friday's intrasquad game. The Club wishes Nicki a successful and speedy recovery.
