CARY, NC (May 2, 2014) - The Carolina RailHawks (1W-1T-1L, 4pts) will host defending NASL Soccer Bowl Champion New York Cosmos (2W-0T-1L, 6pts) on Saturday, May 3rd at 7:30pm ET. Both teams are coming off of Week 3 losses and are looking for victories this weekend that could take them into second place. WakeMed Soccer Park has proven to be a difficult place for visitors as the RailHawks home unbeaten streak currently stands at 17 matches.

"Fans are going to get a great match on Saturday night," said RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke. "Both clubs are coming off weekends where they didn't get the result and both will be looking to get back on track. We look forward to getting back in front of our home crowd and defending our home unbeaten streak."

New York is coming off only their second loss in NASL play since joining the league for the 2013 Fall Season and their first at home. An Eric Hassli goal in the 15th minute was the difference maker as San Antonio held on for the 1-0 victory.

RailHawks Notes

Six Games Remain in the Spring Season

Only six games remain in the shortened 2014 Spring Season before NASL clubs break for the FIFA World Cup. With a top two seed for "˜The Championship' on the line, a win on Saturday will put the RailHawks and New York in an enviable position. The Championship is a four-team tournament with the winners of the Spring Season and the Fall Season receiving the #1 and #2 seeds. The next two teams with the most points over the Spring and Fall Seasons combined will join the season winners. Currently, only 6 points separate 1st place from 7th place in the NASL Spring Season Standings.

Schilawski Named NASL Player of the Month

Cary-native Zack Schilawski was named NASL Player of the Month for scoring 3 goals and adding 1 assist. Schilawski had a 2 goal performance on April 26th against Fort Lauderdale and scored the equalizer in a Week 1 draw against Indy Eleven. The Wake Forest alum and former RailHawks U-23 forward also earned Week 2 NASL Player of the Week honors with his goals against Fort Lauderdale and adding an assist to the stats sheet. Schilawski is currently the NASL leader in goals scored and tied for 5th in assist.
