Louisville City FC News Release

Louisville, KY - In order to end the club's first ever three-match losing streak, Louisville City FC (5-3-5, 20 points) will have to ward off the OKC Energy (7-3-3, 24 points) in an interconference matchup on Saturday night. The 7:30 kickoff will mark the second match in a crucial four match homestand at Louisville Slugger Field.

City is coming off of its first home loss in history. A 0-2 defeat to the New York Red Bulls II on Saturday. A tired group, coming off of an extra-time loss to the Chicago Fire midweek in the U.S. Open Cup, played their fourth match in ten days and displayed evidence of both physical and mental fatigue. New York took advantage of two City turnovers on goals by Konrad Pluwe and Derrick Etienne to become the first visitors to lead a match and win at Slugger.

The Energy are themselves are coming off of two straight losses, including a 4-1 defeat at the hands of MLS' FC Dallas. Prior to that match, Jimmy Nielsen's club had rattled off four straight victories in the league, outscoring their opponents by a combined 9-1. That streak ended last week, when the Energy lost on the road to Sacramento Republic FC, 2-1.

A win could potentially put City within one point of the Charleston Battery in third place in the USL Eastern Conference. Fans can purchase tickets ahead of time to be a part of a fourth straight record crowd by visiting LouisvilleCityFC.com/tickets.
