North Carolina FC News Release
CARY, NC (October 11, 2014) - With only four games left in the NASL Regular Season, the Carolina RailHawks (Fall Season: 6W-1T-7L, 19pts) will travel to Canada to take on NASL rival FC Edmonton (Fall Season: 5W-5T-4L, 20pts) this coming Sunday. The match is set for 4:00pm EST at Clarke Stadium. The game will be available live at NASLlive.com.
The RailHawks are coming off of a tough 1-0 loss against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at the historic Lockhart Stadium. It took a brilliant save from RailHawks' goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald to keep the Strikers from scoring in the first half, but a mid-second-half goal from Fort Lauderdale was enough for them to take away the full three points from the match.
Meanwhile, the Eddies dropped a great opportunity to get closer to the Championship spots last weekend as they tied 1-1 on the road against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Both the RailHawks and Edmonton are in the hunt for a spot in The Championship (the leagues four-team post-season tournament). Currently, the RailHawks (Combined: 10W-3T-10L, 33pts) are only one point behind Fort Lauderdale, who is currently sitting in fourth place.

RailHawks Sign Alex Martinez Prior to Roster Freeze Date
Carolina RailHawks announce the signing of former High Point University and NC State graduate, Alex Martinez, for the remainder of the 2014 NASL season. Alex, the Rock Hill, SC native, is the younger brother of RailHawks midfielder Enzo Martinez and became the 11th player in the RailHawks roster who played youth and/or college soccer in North Carolina.
Coach's Quote
"Every time we play Edmonton, they give us a unique set of problems. They are very big, strong and physical. It is not easy to travel to Canada and play on turf. We haven't been successful up there in the past, but we are going there knowing that we have to get a result. A result in Edmonton would put us in a very good position the rest of the season." - Colin Clarke
