ATLANTA - Atlanta United will play its third match of the Carolina Challenge Cup and final preseason match on Saturday, Feb. 24, against Charleston Battery. Kickoff from MUSC Health Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the match will be televised on beIN SPORTS.
On Wednesday, Feb. 21, Atlanta and Minnesota United played to a 1-1 draw. Minnesota opened the scoring in the 51st minute when Kevin Molino converted from the penalty spot to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead. Ezequiel Barco leveled the game in the 85th minute, tallying his first goal in an Atlanta uniform with a curling effort to beat goalkeeper Matt Lampson. Barco received a pass on the left wing, dribbled into space and cut inside past a pair of defenders before striking a right-footed shot inside the far-post.
Charleston Battery fell to Columbus Crew SC 2-1 Wednesday, Feb. 21. Battery forward Ian Svantesson scored his second goal of the tournament to give the Battery a 1-0 lead over the MLS visitors in the 32nd minute, but Crew SC's Gyasi Zardes scored two second-half goals to complete the comeback.
