ATLANTA - Atlanta United 2 returns to action Wednesday, August 9 when it hosts Crown Legacy FC at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. EDT and will be streamed live on Apple TV - MLS Season Pass, while fans can also tune into the Soccer Down Here audio stream.
In ATL UTD 2's last match on Thursday, Aug. 3, the team fell 2-1 to Chicago Fire II at SeatGeek Stadium. With goals from Victor Bezzera just before halftime, and Alex Monis in the 55th minute, Chicago earned three points at home. As time was expiring, Jackson Conway forced an own goal on Jeffrey Gal in the final minute of stoppage time to erase the clean sheet victory for Chicago.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Atlanta looks to earn it's first win over Crown Legacy as the team fell in the first two meetings of the season. In the first meeting, Crown Legacy defeated ATL UTD 2 2-1 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on May 14. Efraín Morales scored his lone goal of the season off a free kick set piece sent in by Tyler Wolff towards the back post where the 19-year-old homegrown put away the header. On July 9, CLT defeated Atlanta 3-1 at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex where Luke Brennan scored his second goal of the season on a through pass played in by Nick Firmino for his fourth assist of the year.

Atlanta enters Wednesday's match with a 6-10-5-1 (W-L-T-SOW) record having dropped its last five matches. The team currently sits in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 24 points, seven points behind 7th place and a spot in the playoffs. It will be crucial for Atlanta to get off on the front foot as the team is 5-1-1 when it scores first at home but 1-3-1 at home when it concedes the first goal of the match. Atlanta holds a 6-4-1 overall record at home as the team gets set to host Crown Legacy at home for the second time this season.
CROWN LEGACY FC
Crown Legacy FC heads into Wednesday's match against Atlanta with a 14-3-3 record, currently in 1st place in the Eastern Conference with 47 points. Despite having the most wins in the league, CLT holds the second best record in the league, just one point behind Colorado Rapids 2 for the top spot in MLS NEXT Pro's overall standings. In its last outing, the team picked up three points on the road in a 1-0 victory over FC Cincinnati 2. CLT holds a 7-3-0 record on the road heading into Wednesday's matchup against Atlanta.
