Huntsville City Football Club to Host Columbus Crew 2 at Joe Davis Stadium at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday

Huntsville, Ala. - Huntsville City Football Club will play a home midweek match when it takes on Columbus Crew 2 at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. The match will also serve as Space and Missile Defense Night, which comes as the city hosts the annual Space and Missile Defense Symposium.

Huntsville City FC is currently on a three-match winning streak, where it has outscored its opponents 6-2. The streak is tied for the club's longest this season, which helped to set Huntsville in a playoff spot in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Earlier this week, Huntsville City FC Head Coach Jack Collison and goalkeeper Ben Martino previewed the match against Columbus Crew 2. They spoke about the short turnaround following the midweek match and how they hope to get some revenge following two losses to Columbus earlier this season.

Additionally, HCFC will honor community members and organizations making a difference in our city at every home match. This Wednesday, Section 256, a special section in the stadium dedicated to celebrating our community, will host guests from Kids to Love, whose mission is to help children living in foster care by putting clothes on their backs, getting Christmas presents under the tree, and giving them scholarships for the next steps of their education. KTECH Director of Workforce Development Dorothy Haven, will be honored as the Hero of the Match. Veteran Major Marty Eaton of the U.S. Army will serve as this week's Landers McLarty Chevrolet Military Salute.

As a bonus, fans will be welcomed by the special visit of Huntsville Havoc's mascot, Chaos who will be in attendance to interact and take photos. Similar to the relationship with the Trash Pandas, the Huntsville Havoc and Huntsville City FC will celebrate their friendship as the Havoc look to host HCFC this upcoming season.
