STATESBORO, Ga. - Following its first win in six games, South Georgia Tormenta FC returns to Erk Russell Park to take on the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Community Heroes Night, presented by Bulloch Solutions, this Saturday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m. ET. South Georgia seeks its first home win of the season against a tamed Red Wolves team coming into the match with two consecutive losses. A win at home tomorrow would have South Georgia pushing for a top position in the league thirteen games into the season.

Coming into June, South Georgia was goalless at home. A month later, Tormenta FC scored four goals and came close to victory in two close encounters against Forward Madison and Union Omaha. Now, an opportunity to give the Red Wolves its third consecutive defeat has the team motivated. Tormenta FC has recovered several players from injury and will have a more reinforced offensive unit this Saturday.

Several familiar faces face off this Saturday, a return back to Statesboro for Tor Saunders, who showed up for Tormenta FC 2 in 2019. Goalkeeper Carlos Avilez also returns to Statesboro after playing for Tormenta FC in 2021. In addition, Tormenta FC's Josue Soto will face his previous club for the first time after spending a season with the Red Wolves in 2019/2020.

Chattanooga's inconsistent season has seen it lead the league for several weeks. However, the Red Wolves are coming into this match after losing consecutive games against last-place FC Tucson and Northern Colorado Hailstorm. Additionally, the Red Wolves featured in a record-breaking 7-1 victory over NCFC, making it the most significant League One victory.

Tormenta FC is excited for a historic 2022 as it transitions from Erk Russell Park to Tormenta Stadium. Single-match tickets are live for advance purchase ahead of Saturday's match. Supporters can also purchase season memberships or Flex Ticket packages to guarantee their presence at every home match this season.

Following Saturday's match, Tormenta FC will play its first-midweek match of the season hosting Greenville Triumph SC next Wednesday, July 13, at Erk Russell Park, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
