Masoli Named a CFL Top Performer of the Week

The Canadian Football League announced Wednesday that Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has been named one of the CFL Top Performers for Week 16.

Masoli, 29, completed 27 passes on 33 attempts (81.8%) for 338 yards and two touchdowns, and added eight carries for 48 yards (6.0 avg.) in Hamilton's 30-13 road win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on October 6. Since being named the starting quarterback of the Tiger-Cats on August 28, the University of Mississippi product has led the team to a 4-2 record, while compiling 1,570 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns, 232 rushing yards and three interceptions in six starts.

In his sixth CFL season, the 5-10, 228-pound native of San Francisco, California, has played in all 14 of Hamilton's games, posting 146 completions on 239 pass attempts for 1,775 yards, eight touchdowns, four interceptions, and 294 rushing yards with two rushing touchdowns.

Edmonton's Brandon Zylstra and Ottawa's Trevor Harris, first and second in voting, respectively, join Masoli as this week's CFL Top Performers. The three players were chosen by a panel of judges who independently send their selections to the CFL head office. The panel includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
