Mascherin Named to OHL Second All-Rookie Team

The Ontario Hockey League announced the All-Rookie Teams for the 2014-15 season on Wednesday.

Rangers rookie Adam Mascherin was selected to the Second All-Rookie Team. Chosen second overall by Kitchener in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, the Maple, Ontario native scored 12 goals and 17 assists in his first regular season and added two points in the playoffs.

Forward Alex DeBrincat of the Erie Otters is the 2014-15 recipient of the Emms Family Award presented to the OHL's Rookie of the Year.

The OHL All-Rookie Teams were also selected by the OHL's General Managers. Players were voted on initially by position within their conference receiving five points for a first place vote, three for a second place vote, and one for a third. Top vote getters in each position made up the final ballot that was then circulated to all 20 teams.

2014-15 OHL All-Rookie Teams:

First Team:

Centre - Pavel Zacha, Sarnia Sting

Left Wing - Tim Gettinger, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds

Right Wing - Alex DeBrincat, Erie Otters

Defence - Jakob Chychrun, Sarnia Sting

Defence - Gustav Bouramman, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds

Goaltender - Michael McNiven, Owen Sound Attack

Second Team:

Centre - Logan Brown, Windsor Spitfires

Left Wing - Adam Mascherin, Kitchener Rangers

Right Wing - Zachary Senyshyn, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds

Defence - Victor Mete, London Knights

Defence - Keaton Middleton, Saginaw Spirit

Goaltender - Evan Cormier, Saginaw Spirit
