Statement from OHL Commissioner David Branch, Regarding the Erie Oters
Published on April 8, 2015 under Ontario Hockey League (OHL) News Release
The Erie Otters Hockey Club has implemented a voluntary Chapter 11 reorganization under US law. This gives the Club the opportunity to reorganize its financial structure and the team's affairs.
The League has been assured by the Erie Otters Hockey Club and is satisfied that the interests of former, current and future players are protected, including all obligations related to the scholarship package, which is the hallmark of the OHL player experience.
The OHL and its Member Teams will continue their operations as usual. This move by the Otters will not have any effect on the playoff schedule or pending OHL Priority Selection.
