
María Sánchez to Join Mexico for FIFA Window in April

Houston Dash forward María Sánchez was named to the Mexican Women's National Team roster for a pair of FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the federation announced today.
Sánchez will join the Mexico WNT following Houston's match against the Red Stars in Bridgeview, Illinois on April 2.
Mexico will take on Anguilla and Puerto Rico in the second round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying matches. El Tri will travel to Anguilla on April 9 for their match at 3 p.m. CT at The Raymond Gordon Ernest Guishard Technical Centre in The Valley, Anguilla. Sánchez and Mexico will then return back to Mexico and host Puerto Rico on April 12 at Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca at 8:00 p.m. CT.
Mexico currently sits atop Group A with six points after victories over Suriname, Antigua and Barbuda during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in February.
The forward has 41 caps and has scored five goals for the El Tri after making her senior Mexican Women's National Team debut in 2015 as a 19-year-old. Sánchez was part of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup squad and the second youngest player on the team.
