Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive lineman Marwan Hage will host the 'Marwan Hage Celebrity Charity Dinner and Poker Tournament' presented by Bet365.net at the Hamilton Convention Centre on Thursday, September 23.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Hage's Heroes Christmas toy drive, which helps many of Hamilton's less-fortunate youth experience the joy of receiving a gift on Christmas

Among the celebrities participating in the tournament are UFC fighter Randy Couture, Ticats caretaker Bob Young, former WWF personality Sgt. Slaughter, CFL on TSN sportscaster Rod Black, former CFL receiver and current CFL on TSN personality Milt Stegall, Ticats alumni Angelo Mosca, as well as Canadian Idol winner Brian Melo.

"I am excited to host an event like this for such a great cause," said Hage. "With the help of my generous sponsors, the celebrities that have donated their time as well as the great auction and prizes available, it will be a fantastic evening."

The seven-year CFL veteran established the Hage's Heroes community initiative in 2007. The program has welcomed over 3,000 underprivileged youth to Tiger-Cats home games, fed over 4,000 families through food drives and made numerous donations to local charities. Last fall, Hage was honoured with the 2009 Tom Pate Memorial Award for his efforts.

Seating for the tournament is limited. You can reserve your spot at a table now for $175 by visiting Ticats.ca or calling Shawn Burke at 905-547-2287 x257.
