KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Class AA minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announce this evening the arrival of RHP Oswaldo Martinez to the team from High-A Daytona. He will be available for tonight's game against the Jacksonville Suns. There are no corresponding moves at this time.
The Smokies roster sits at 23 active players.
This will be Martinez's second stint with the Smokies this year. In four relief appearances between June 13 and June 27, he went 1-0 with a 7.94 ERA. With Daytona this year, he was 3-4 with a 2.97 ERA in relief. The 21-year-old was signed by Chicago as a non-drafted free agent in 2006.
